Stage 3 (2007/2008) is the third of six main stages of relining the dry canal bed ready for re-watering and is 350 metres long.

The clearing of the dry bed at Whitehouses is proceeding well.

February 2001: Stage 3 is still looking more like a jungle than a canal, but good progress is being made. September 2001: The most overgrown bit of the canal. The towpath is stil clear, but the old canal bed has not been cleared and now has trees growing in it. November 2001: The old canal bed of Phase2 Stage3. Oct 2003: What's left of the old Whitehouses pumping station.

Feb:2003 we had 140 airmen/women from RAF Halton they have cut down all the trees up to the old pumping station. Jan2004 The overgrown bit of canal is nearly cleared thanks to BITM before Christmas
Feb2004: With the help of the Newbury working party group (nwpg) and WAT volunteers we finally cut back all the trees.
